Video Bar

Welcome to the Video Bar, a showcase for several of the videos which we demonstrate as part of our programs. We’ve also included a few videos that we don’t show as part of any program, but provide a good overview of some of the specific topics we cover. Either way, enjoy them for what they are – the digital marketing space is fascinating, no matter the angle you approach it from.

It's a Beautiful Day for Cancer (Cancer Council NSW, Australia)

Sponsored by The Cancer Council of New South Wales, this is a great example of online target marketing. It's been produced for the YouTube generation; it speaks their language - spoof rap - and has relied on YouTube’s inbuilt community for its viral distribution (as of early February it has been viewed almost 250,000 times). If the aim was to jolt, shock or otherwise impress, it seems to have achieved that too: over 600 text comments have been left, and 350 ratings made giving it an average rating of 4 out of 5. The tanned look sure ain’t looking too sexy through this lens.

The video is used as part of the ‘Laser Targeted Online Advertising & Branding’ workshop

Video Resume - Gautam  Bannerjee (Canada)

With a few basic filming and editing tools Gautam puts his best foot forward with style. Video Resumes and other video communications are taking off in North America, commonly forming an integral part of an individual’s online personal brand. Online platforms such as YouTube facilitate the process with costless and global distribution. We’d hire the guy.

The video is used as part of the ‘Laser Targeted Online Advertising & Branding’ workshop.

New Features Overview - Google Earth v. 4.3 (Google, USA)

Google Earth struts its new stuff as part of it v.4.3 release; new features include photo-realistic 3D buildings, and sunlight simulations. There’s a lot under the hood here that the business community should be sitting up and taking more notice of.

This topic forms part of the ‘Online Business Intelligence: Tools & Techniques’ workshop.

Matt Cutts - How to Get Better Visibility on Google (USA)

The seeming black art of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is shrouded in mystery and popular myth, all pushed along by disinformation peddlers - so who are you to turn to for good advice? We turn to the likes of Matt Cutts, a straight talker from Google.  See for yourself.

This topic forms part of the ‘Corporate Level Search Engine Optimisation’ workshop.

Really Simple Syndication in Plain English (Commoncraft, USA)

If you don’t know what RSS is and how to use it, you should. To our mind it’s the most powerful information retrieval and filtering tool the internet has to offer. We’ve never met a person who’s seen an RSS demo and hasn’t been instantly impressed.

This topic forms part of the ‘Online Business Intelligence: Tools & Techniques’ workshop.

The Yellow Pages Cops It (2 Sticks Digital Marketing, Australia)

Yellow Pages advertising should be dead, dead, dead – yet zombie like it continues to live on. This video explores the vulnerability of old school advertising when pitted against the combined might of lamp guns, chainsaw wheeling rodents, an angry toaster, sharp instrument rain, and finally, 2 sticks.

The video is used as part of the ‘Social Media & Online Public Relations’ workshop.
